Cooktown is a historic gold rush town, it was named after Captain Cook who in 1770 ran the Endeavour into a reef and beached and carried out repairs there. Indigenous, European and chinese history come together in this unique frontier town. Among the the many things to do during this tour: Visit Windy Hill lookout, Black Mountain National Park lookout, stop off for a coldie at the infamous Lions Den Hotel, visit the museum and stroll through the cemetery.
